Based on the Solunar Theory (John Alden Knight): fish and wildlife tend to feed more during the periods when the moon is overhead or underfoot (major) and at moonrise/moonset (minor). The score considers the lunar phase and the crossing of major periods with the local high tide.

📘 About Kolka Tide Forecast

Kolka is located at 57.73° N, 22.58° E on the coast of Latvia, in the northern hemisphere. Its tidal pattern is diurnal (one high and one low tide per day), with a mean tidal range of 0m and spring tides reaching up to 0.1m. The weak tidal amplitude results from the geometry of the ocean basin, which does not amplify incoming tidal waves. The diurnal pattern is relatively rare worldwide, occurring mainly along Gulf of Mexico coasts, northern Australia, and parts of Southeast Asia. Its geographic position creates unique interactions between oceanic swell and local tidal currents. Review the annual 2026 tide guide for Kolka, constructed with continuous high and low water forecasts measured in metres. In September, Kolka is in its autumn season, a key period for water sports, fishing, diving, and coastal navigation. Our oceanographic database syncs historical gauge records to refine harmonic coefficients for this stretch of coastline.
